But Only After I Felt The Pain

You learn the hardest lesson when you going through pain, when the storm hits you so hard that you can’t even see the sun at the end of the road and it lives behind scars that are engraved on your heart and lifelong lessons that will make you think before you make the same mistake again. Sometimes it takes a bit longer for us to learn the lesson so we will repeat the cycle until we eventually learn and hopefully by then it won’t be too late. I’m sharing another poem that I wrote a while back titled “But only after I felt the pain”

But only after I felt the pain   

Unspoken words
Emotionally drowning my soul
Can’t keep up with those
Emotionless sensors on the other side
I know what I said ,but I really want more
What I said was good for then
But now I want more
Your lack of interest
Speaks to the thoughts in my head

But common-sense kicks in
And saves me from acting on
My imprudent ways

But only after I felt the pain…

Dear Mr. Premeditated
You have studied my mental
you distorted my reality
And you have given me
A ton of options that led me
Straight to your lusty path

And I let you…

I let you because
I was blinded by your physical
Locked up in your sensual locks  
Because I wanted too
I even tried to digest your bogus excuses

But common-sense kicks in
And saved me from acting on
My imprudent ways

But only after I felt the pain…

I knew what I deserved
But I was willing to settle for less
I was so attracted to your flesh
I made myself believe
Less is what I wanted

But it didn’t sit well with my soul
